RANK
The rank of a character is so very important in an rpg. It's one of the most basic deciding factors of battles and moving on through the game. Most games you've probably played go like level 1-99, well here we don't. We use the traditional rankings of the naruto world. Your rank decides which jutsu your character may learn and how strong your character is. There's no way a level 1 could hit a level 99 and cause huge damage. There's no way a level 1 could match the speed of a level 99. So always keep in mind what level your at before taking on your opponents. So the ranking system of the traditional naruto world is academy student to Genin to Chunin to jonin to higher up ninja (the higher up ninja will be divided into particular categories). Like wise the path of a rogue nin (missing nin) is somewhat similar. The missing ninja ranks are as follows. D-Class to C-Class to B-Class to A-Class to S-Class. Each rouge rank has an equivalent for a ninja rank. D-Class Criminal is equivalent to Genin, C-Class to Chunin, B-Class to Jonin, A-Class and S-Class to Higher up ranks. As a member if you start as an Academy student Then you can become a D-Class criminal AFTER becoming a Genin. To move up in the ranks of ninja there are several ways depending on what rank you are currently.

• Academy Student - It is easiest to start as an academy student and if there is no more room in villages for higher ranks then you must start as an academy student. These are the weakest level of shinobi who have not even finished school. These shinibi may learn E-Rank techniques. This is the base so you can only go up from here. Remember to train often to learn new techniques and to battle and do mission to gain points until you can become a Genin. You must learn 5 jutsus, have 10 points, and pass a test by an admin to become a Genin.
  
• Genin - Genin is the second lowest rank of shinobi and is a good time to really start thinking about what you want to do as a ninja. Genin can learn all D-Rank and lower jutsu, this means they begin expanding their range of techniques and start making their way into the real ninja world. These people are able to obtain true weapons such as swords, iron fans, and puppets. You must have 50 points and have held your rank as a Genin for 1 week to become a Chunin.
  
• Chunin - Chunin are like real ninja these ninja are able to travel the world and go on away missions for the kage's. The Chunin may learn and C-Rank and lower jutsu, which is where a good amount of the elemental jutsu are contained. This is where you must decide who you want to be in this new ninja world. You must have at least 100 points, pass a test by an admin, and have held your position as a Chunin for at least 2 weeks to become a Jonin.
  
• Jonin - Jonin are powerful ninja able to learn the B-ranked and lower jutsu, this is when you start getting into the way powerful jutsu which can really do damage. The jonin class is where you start strengthening your arsenal of jutsu and really getting comfortable with your powers. you must have 500 points, been a Jonin for 4 weeks, and pass a test held by an admin to become a higher up ninja (for the more selective ranks you must meet certain requirements)
  

HIGHER UP NINJA
This is the rank when you truly decide who you are at this rank you can become either a Medical Ninja, ANBU(hunter-nin), Village Head, Sage, and even kage. All higher up ninja can learn A rank jutsu. All higher rank ninja that are not Jonin+ can learn S-Rank jutsu. Only Village heads, Kage, and Anbu can learn forbidden jutsu. Some special missions will need the other ranks of ninja and sometimes (in the case of the lottery) earn you eligibility.

• Jonin+ - These ninja are powerful jonin who could become any of the higher up ninjas but don't have the skills required to be a certain class they choose yet.
  
• Medical Ninja - These ninja must have at least 4 healing techniques B-Rank and above, and one defensive technique that can protect multiple people. They will go on particularly dangerous missions with other ninja that might require healing.
  
• Sage - These are individuals renowned for their great power. To be a sage one must have completed a whole summoning contract that has at least 5 tiers.
  
• ANBU(Hunter-nin) - These ninja are chosen by the Kage(or admins if necessary) and are picked based on their abilities. Only those with exceptionally strong abilities will be chosen to join the ANBU. Anbu partake in many covert oppressions and are required to go on dangerous missions that risk their lives. They must know at least 1 C-Rank and above genjutsu and 1 A-rank jutsu. (This rank has a set number of them in each village, so if a village has their maximum amount, no more Anbu will be accepted.)
  
• Village Head - These are the ninja that are like leading military commanders. They mainly stay in the village to defend it and also work on training the jonin and other higher up ninja. These ninja are required to have at least 6 elemental jutsu of their village A-Rank or above. (This rank has a set number of them in each village, so if a village has their maximum amount, no more Vilage Heads will be accepted.)
  
• Kage - The kage is the leader of a village, they are usually the most powerful of the village and have direct control over the ANBU(Hunter-nin). If the village is in a time of crisis this position can be obtained by a vote. All Jonin and higher ninja vote on candidates selected by the village heads. This figure Kage will only be able to learn techniques still of their original rank (ie: if the figure Kage was a Chunin they will still only be able to learn C-Rank and below jutsu)
  

CRIMINAL RANKS
Missing-nin - People may become this rank by abandoning their village at the rank of genin, chunin, or jonin. Once they leave the village they may never come back unless officially pardoned by the kage of the village. Because missing-nin are on the run they sometimes have a chance to learn more techniques. These ninja are grouped by what types of crimes they commit and are not bound in moving up ranks. Criminals can go from D-Rank all the way to S-Rank if they commit the right type of crime. Now I know many people may want to be criminals but it is not advised, as some villages may vigorously pursue criminals. Also your character should not abandon their village unless its in their nature or they have a legit IC reason.

• D-Rank Criminal - This rank is given to ninja who decide to abandon their village as a Genin. They may learn jutsu that are D-Rank and below. To become a D-Rank criminal you must run away from your village at Genin rank.
  
• C-Rank Criminal - This rank is given to ninja who decide to abandon their village as a Chunin. They may learn jutsu that are C-Rank and below. To become a C-Rank criminal you must run away from your village at Chunin rank or commit petty theft or steal from someone in your village.
  
• B-Rank Criminal - This rank is given to ninja who decide to abandon their village as a Jonin. They may learn jutsu that are B-Rank and below. To become a B-Rank criminal you must run away from your village at Jonin rank or have stolen a village object or helped another village hurt yours.
  
• A-Rank Criminal - This rank is given to ninja who decide to abandon their village as a Higher Up ninja. They may learn jutsu that are A-Rank and below. To become an A-Rank criminal you must run away from your village at a Higher Up Ninja rank or have killed another person who was in your village.
  
• S-Rank Criminal - This rank is given to ninja who are the most evil of them all. They may learn jutsu that are S-Rank and Forbidden Jutsu (and everything else) below. This rank may only be obtained if the criminal has killed more than 3 members on the site, attacked/killed a Kage, started a criminal group, or attacked a village.
  

RANK UP
Ranking up requires some OC and IC actions. When going for a rank up (even though it is not in the same area) no travel topic is needed. All you have to do is fill out a form and make a post in the EXAM AREA.
If you are following the rightful "good" ninja path and going through the ranks to rank up you must go to the EXAM AREA section and post your form. Then a mod/admin will come and act as the opponent. This is the OC action. The opponent is made up, and is not the mods/admins. This means any admin or mod can act as the opponent. The mod or admins goal is not to win. But to test your character and see how adeptly you use your character at their current strength.
If you are going the criminal route ranking up is a process that involves becoming worse and worse. 1st off to become a criminal rank you must do something that meets the requirement for that crimnal rank and unlike normal ranking, criminal ranking can go from one rank to one that is two ranks higher based on what you do. Here's how to obtain specific criminal ranks:

• D-Rank Criminal ~ Abandon village as Genin, Petty theft
  
• C-Rank Criminal ~ Abandon village as Chunin, Attacked someone in your village with intent to kill
  
• B-Rank Criminal ~ Abandon village as Jonin, Stolen/tried to steal village artifact
  
• A-Rank Criminal ~ Abandon village as Higher up, Killed someone in your village unlawfully
  
• S-Rank Criminal ~ killed more than 3 members on the site, attacked/killed a Kage, started a criminal group, or attacked a village.

Now after you have committed the required crime comes the hard part. The getaway. The getaway involves creating a topic which describes your character running away after committing the crime. After posting the topic there is a 48 hour period in which others may pursue you. The only people who may pursue you immediately are those who are of the rank Jonin and higher. If ninja of the Genin and Chunin rank would like to pursue a runaway they must get IC permission from the Kage or the village heads. If you(the missing-nin) are able to getaway and survive the 48 hours you are officially considered a missing-nin and can now travel and enjoy all the things that come with your criminal rank.
